These winter snowy forest trail pictures were taken during a winter snow strom that dropped over 12 inches of snow in a matter of a few hours. My son and I were hiking all over these mountains and trails during the blizzard it was a real winter wonderland. There were very few other people that were willing to brave the mountains during a storm like this. You are welcome to use our winter snow pictures as you wish as long as you provide our site credit for our work.

Here we see a determined but weary winter hiker. We have literally hiked hundreds of miles in the forests of West Virginia. Some places we have been to several times to get some of the wonderful winter pictures that we provide our visitors. One of these winter pictures shows us when we first get the head of Bear Run and start hikng down the trail that follows the creek. Then We see anoth at the falls of hills creek during a blizzard in 2005, we are nearly all the way to the bottom of the trail here. Next we are hiking through the manin trail at Hills Creek getting ready to ascend to the top of the trail. You are welcome to use these winter snow pictures as you wish as long as you give our site credit for the work.

Hiking through the snow at the lower parts of hills creek we see a winter wonderland of trees rocks and animal tracks. The lower part of hills creek is a wonderful place that is secluded and hard to find. The winter roads are nearly impassable unless you have a four wheel drive. As you can see there is a point that there is no longer any vehicle tracks on this road and trail that we are following. There are big ravines that cut across the snow covered trail and roads that make it impassable to trucks and cars. I personally am glad for that as it keeps the are more pristine. You are welcome to use these winter snow pictures as you wish as long as you give our website credit for the work.

Here we are at the Falls of Hills Creek, which is a very beautiful place. There was 12 inches of snow on the ground when we got here and was a wonderful day. The temperature was just right for hiking and picture taking. The two snow trail pictures are from when you first enter the area this is just above the first waterfalls which is 25 feet high. These winter snow pictures are free to use as long as you give us credit for our work.
